Carson earns $4,000 with RUSH Late Models at Pittsburgh; pair of sixth-place finishes with Lucas Dirt
Carson Ferguson strapped in for double duty at Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Motor Speedway (Imperial, Pa.) as he competed with the Lucas Oil Super Late Models as well as the RUSH Crate Late Models on Friday and Saturday.
Continuing his points chase with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, Ferguson set quicktime in his group on Friday and ran sixth in the $10,000-to-win opener. On Saturday, Carson started from the fourth-row in the $50,000 finale and quietly recorded another sixth-place finish just outside the Top-5.
Heading into the finale, Ferguson is currently ninth in the series point standings.
Behind the wheel of Cameron Tribble's No. 4F machine, Carson swept Friday's portion of the RUSH Late Model show as he picked up the win in his heat race and in the evening's dash which set him on the pole for the main event. Ferguson lost the lead on the third circuit, but eventually found his way back to the front and took home the $4,000 payday over Christian Schneider and Mason Ziegler.
Carson came up one spot short in Saturday's $10,000-to-win finale after he charged from fifth-to-second in his dash and ran second to Max Blair in the main event.
