Carson Ferguson shows speed in Fourth of July doubleheader with Lucas Dirt

Carson Ferguson unloaded the Paylor Motorsports No. 93 machine and checked into Atomic Speedway (Chillicothe, Ohio) on Friday among 26 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series competitors for the first of two nights in the Buckeye State.

Ferguson put down the second-quickest lap in his qualifying group and picked up a heat race win which put him on the front-row for the $25,000-to-win main event. Leading the first few laps, Carson pulled pitside and the team discovered terminal engine issues which ended their night.

The following night, Carson raced his way into the Freedom 60 at Muskingum County Speedway (Dresden, Ohio) and rounded out the Top-10 in 10th.

Ferguson is ninth in the overall point standings.
