Carson Ferguson closes out 2023 season at Gateway Dirt Nationals
To close out the 2023 season, Carson Ferguson made a special start at the Dome at America's Center (St. Louis, Mo.) in Kale Green's Longhorn for the seventh-annual Gateway Dirt Nationals on Thursday evening.
Hitting the track for the first time on Friday, Carson earned the pole position of his heat race with the second-fastest lap in his group. Leading the first two laps, Ferguson spun while battling hard for the lead and wound up with a ninth-place outing.
For Saturday's $30,000-to-win main event, Ferguson used the non-qualifier race to his advantage by transferring to the second qualifier of the evening. Needing a Top-2 finish in the qualifier, Carson landed in the ninth-position.
