Carson Ferguson pockets $7,553 in Southern Nationals Series make-up event at East Alabama
Returning to East Alabama Motor Speedway (Phenix City, Ala.) for Friday's rain-postponed Southern Nationals Series event, Carson Ferguson unloaded his Paylor Motorsports No. 93 machine for a two-day weekend at the track.
With his original qualifying lap placing him on the front row for the main event, Carson battled a persistent Jimmy Owens throughout the 40-lap feature but held off the 2023 series champion long enough to secure the $7,553 payday. In his third-career Southern Nationals victory, Ferguson topped Owens while Steven Roberts, Dalton Cook, and Donald McIntosh rounded out the Top-5.
Looking to go two in a row at East Alabama, Carson stayed overnight to compete with the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series for a $10,000 prize on Saturday afternoon.
With 27 Late Models signed in, Ferguson was third-fastest in his qualifying group and ran runner-up in his heat race. In the 50-lap feature, Carson moved into the fourth position before a rubbered up racetrack prevented him from gaining anymore positions.
